Hurting Hearts Connecting to Jesus and One Another

Sometimes in life you just need people around you who get it — people who will point you toward Christ’s love.

The Support/Recovery Ministry offers support groups, growth groups, recovery groups, and recovery workshops. Each group functions independently with different formats and curriculums. All groups and workshops are open to members and non-members.

Encounter and Encounter Groups
Thursday Night Encounter begins with a time of worship followed by support, growth and recovery groups. Encounter worship includes inspirational music, testimonies, drama presentations, teaching, prayer support and guidance for those who need help in determining which group to attend. Find out more on the Encounter page.

Additional Support Groups
We also offer groups outside of the Encounter groups that meet on a regular basis. These could be summarized into three types of groups: Support, Growth and Recovery groups.

  • Support Group: A support group is a group of people with similar issues and feelings who meet regularly for Christ-centered support, encouragement and prayer.

  • Recovery Group: A recovery group is a group of people with similar issues and feelings who meet regularly for Christ-centered support, encouragement, prayer, and to work through their issues.  With a Biblically based curriculum in place, the group works together toward the goal of recovery.

  • Growth Group: A growth group is designed to be a “next step” in the process of recovery. With a Biblically based curriculum in place, that is not necessarily specific to participant’s personal struggle, a growth group enables individuals to deepen – to grow -  in their relationship with Christ.  For instance, a person who has attended an addiction group and is “clean and sober” would be a good candidate for a growth group as they would be taking a “next step” in their recovery by growing deeper in their relationship with Christ.

  • Recovery Workshop: A workshop is a group of people with similar issues and feelings who meet regularly for Christ-centered support, encouragement, prayer, and to work through their issues.  With a Biblically based curriculum in place, the group works together toward the goal of recovery.  The workshop has a beginning and ending date. Find out more on the Workshops page.

A listing of these additional groups are under the Additional Support Groups page.
