Two words describe Southeast Christian Church Local Missions strategy: Educate and Equip
Our desire is to educate:
Members of Southeast. The first imperative command of Jesus in Matthew 28:19 is to make disciples, not “go” as many people think. With that knowledge, we realize that, for followers of Jesus, making disciples in not an option but a command. Our goal is that all members prayerfully seek God’s will in their lives as it applies to how they should live out the great commission in their lives.
Local Partnering agencies. Jesus came that we might have life in abundance. Community transformation begins with intense prayer that will manifest in the Bride of Christ (i.e. the church) meeting the needs of the community “wholistically” (meaning the whole or entire person: spiritual, physical, social and emotional needs).
Then we equip:
Members by providing resources to serve our neighborhoods, offices, schools and communities, through outreach events designed to either
Local Missions will provide certain funding for outreach events organized by members to assist them in having successful outreach events.
- Cultivate a relationship,
- Plant the "seed" of the gospel or
- Reap a follower for Christ
Local Partnering agencies. Our desire is to support Christ centered agencies that are either focused on a small geographic area for the purpose of community transformation or on a demographic of society to meet their needs in a “wholistic” way.
