Statement of Purpose

CLCR exists to provide an excellent year round Retreat Center that enables groups to disciple their constituents into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.

Our Current Objectives
Country Lake Christian Retreat Center is dedicated to several standards:

  1. Furnish a Christian Environment in a remote, country setting;
  2. Remove the barriers of the world to enable bible study, personal devotions and reflection;
  3. Demonstrate Christ-like love in our attitude and service to our guests;
  4. Furnish quality facilities, amenities, food service, and support.

Our Camp Motto
At Country Lake, we always serve God first. We follow the camp motto "I’m Third." This motto means we, by example, demonstrate our commitment to place God first, our customers second, and ourselves third. In all situations, to God will go the glory.

Our Covenant to Our Guests

  • Focus on God at work and carry out His agenda,
  • Maintain a Christ-like attitude,
  • Live by our "I'm Third" camp motto,
  • Execute our ministry objectives,
  • Enable CLCR to fulfill its purpose,
  • Serve as godly stewards of property, people, and pennies.

Affiliation
Country Lake is a ministry of Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, Kentucky. Southeast is one of the largest churches in America with 19,000 people attending worship every weekend. Southeast is a non-denominational, independent Christian church.

Statement of Faith

  1. I believe in one God  Father, Son and Holy Spirit;
  2. I believe in God the Father Almighty, Creator of all things visible and invisible;
  3. I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s one and only Son, my one and only Savior:
    • Who was born Jesus of Nazareth, both fully human and fully divine, conceived of the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary,
    • Who suffered and was crucified under Pontius Pilate,
    • Who died and was buried, and Who rose again bodily from the dead on the third day,
    • Who ascended into Heaven and now sits at the right hand of the Father, and
    • Who will return to earth to judge both the living and the dead.
  4. I believe in the Holy Spirit, Who is active and operative part of the triune God and Who indwells in every Christian;
  5. I believe in the Bible God’s Holy Word, scripture. I believe God inspired the autographs (original writings) of the Scripture and those autographs were consequently without error;
  6. I accept the Bible as the final authority for all matters of faith and practice;
  7. I believe the Bible teaches that man, created by God, willfully sinned against God and is consequently lost and without hope apart from Jesus Christ;
  8. I believe the Bible teaches that one receives God’s grace by putting faith in Christ, repenting of sin, confessing Christ and being immersed into Christ, but that none of these is sufficient in and of itself for the assurance of salvation;
  9. I believe in the Church of Jesus Christ, founded on the Day of Pentecost and consisting of all Christians everywhere;
  10. I believe the Bible teaches that the Elders are to exercise authority over the local congregation.
