Country Lake Christian Retreat Center is not just another pretty place to stretch your legs, although there is plenty of opportunity for that. It is a living cathedral of magnificent proportions - God’s home. The moment your car stops on our 200 acre campus, the exploration begins. Located just 20 miles north of Louisville and just 3.5 miles from I-65 adjacent to the 24,000 acre Clark County State Forest, CLCR offers all the comforts of home.

Look for the crawdads and fresh water mussels that God put right here in Southern Indiana mud. Turn your head quickly to catch sight of butterflies, humming birds, and even a blue heron or simply relax and discover the stillness of our 16 acre lake calling you to take flight in a canoe, paddle boat, or sailboat. Stick around to watch the geese, with wings spread, hanging in the air almost motionless, before parting the water in a pilot’s dream landing. Enjoy the sunny docks, the winding trails or a carefree nap in a hammock. Watch another sunset turn the lake into a shimmering glaze of diamonds before it drops behind the 24,000 acre Clark County Forest.

Whatever your heart’s desire, God’s surrounding handiwork will nurture you in a way seldom realized in your own backyard. At Country Lake, time seems to slip away - not only the actual hours, but also the hurried notion that there’s a schedule that must be kept. Our schedule is God’s schedule.
