What is the Missions Ministry at Southeast?
Global Partners
Southeast has identified five Global Partners as primary strategic initiatives. These are long-time partners whose ministries align with the goals of the Missions Ministry.
ProEm—Poland – PROeM holds children's, youth, and sports camps, hosts and sends short-term mission teams, operates a Christian tea house, and oversees a church plant.
Cuba church planting - Eduardo Otero oversees a church planting ministry which currently consists of eight house churches and 22 small groups as well as a children's ministry that are spread out through the Havana area.
Life in Abundance International—East Africa – LIA implements community health, development, and evangelism projects—integrating a wholistic ministry through local churches.
Harvest Ministries—South India - Harvest focuses on training preachers and planting churches. They also provide humanitarian aid and medical clinics in an increasing effort toward wholistic outreach.
Sozo International—Central Asia and Sri Lanka - Sozo empowers the most disadvantaged individuals and communities by coordinating and implementing transformational development through health care, education, and economic initiatives.
Missions Friends
Southeast also supports multiple Missions Friends as secondary initiatives. These include many church members who have obeyed God’s call for them in ministry elsewhere and several church planting efforts in the U.S. and abroad.
How can I get Involved?
If you’ve a giver, you are already involved in Missions. The church invests 16% of all contributions in the work to multiply the Gospel message elsewhere.
If you’re a traveler, Missions offers dozens of short-term trips each year to introduce you to Global Partners and involve you in their work. Look for information in February each year during Missions Kick-off Weekend.
If you’re an encourager, Missions wants your help in supporting our Global Partners with uplifting words and gifts. Maybe you filled out a Missions postcard to send a word of love to someone. Thank you, there may be more you can do.
If you’re a learner, and want to know more about God’s plan for the world, Missions sponsors the Perspectives study course. www.perspectives.org
If you’re a young person seeking God’s call to global outreach, Missions sponsors the Mi2 internships. http://www.gomi2.org/
If you’re a listener, or are interested in engaging with others with an interest in Missions, Southeast sponsors the Global Missions Health Conference (GMHC), held each year on the second weekend of November. https://www.medicalmissions.com/
If you’re a servant, and want hands-on work right where you are, Southeast’s Serve Ministry offers local opportunities to reach out in this community. http://www.southeastchristian.org/serve/
If you pray, pray with us for our Global Partners and the other work we support. Missions is God’s idea, and we need his guidance, the mercy of Christ, and the power of the Holy Spirit to complete the task before us.
