Getting Equipped Mens Group
Getting Equipped (GE) is Bible reading, Bible memory, and Bible study to help a man develop spiritual rhythms and practices to enhance his walk with Christ. Done in Biblical community, GE'ers invest about two hours per week on their own—and then discuss what God's been teaching them in weekly facilitated small groups. GE'ers form strong friendships as they walk alongside fellow disciples of Jesus, learning about God and what He wants for them and from them. This is a 36-week commitment, with scheduled breaks.

Jim & Kim have been married for 42 years. They met at a small Bible college in Maryland, where Jim was a recent convert trying to learn more about his faith, & Kim was a preacher’s kid still in high school. They married after six months & have served as a pastor couple in four states & one Canadian province. They have three daughters & several grandchildren. They recently moved to Louisville from the Oregon coast to be closer to two of their daughters & four of their grandkids. A lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan, Jim is currently a part-time school bus driver for Miller Transportation, but he is anxious to return to a preaching/teaching role in the Louisville area. He especially loves helping people “connect the dots” where Bible truths are concerned. Kim has a varied background in Human Resources & project management. They both love to read, make new friends, travel, play backgammon & listen to classic 70’s rock! They have led several mission trips to Haiti & have participated in several others. They enjoy introducing people to overseas missions opportunities. Their wish for this group is to be a safe place to ask hard questions, and to encourage believers of all ages to discover practical ways to be the hands & feet of Jesus.

Adam grew up in Michigan (Go Blue!) and Nikki in Louisville; they've been attending Southeast Christian together for the past three years after moving back to KY. Nikki plays softball and volleyball and Adam enjoys golfing and watching any sport available. All day, every day, an invisible war rages around you — unseen, unheard, yet felt throughout every aspect of your life. A devoted, devilish enemy seeks to wreak havoc on everything that matters to you: your heart, your mind, your marriage, your children, your relationships, your resilience, your dreams, your destiny. But his battle plan depends on catching you unaware and unarmed. If you're tired of being pushed around and caught with your guard down, this study is for you. The enemy always fails miserably when he meets a woman dressed for the occasion. The Armor of God, more than merely a biblical description of the believer's inventory, is an action plan for putting it on and developing a personalized strategy to secure victory.

We know God commands us to forgive. But how, when the hurt plays over and over in our mind? And why, when we have already suffered so much? And, are there exceptions, such as when the other person keeps inflicting pain? Lysa TerKeurst has walked this journey, carrying so many wounds that felt unforgivable, that she at first refused to write these lessons! But after more than 1,000 hours of theological study, Lysa has discovered that Scripture not only offers the truth about forgiveness that our souls desperately need, but practical ways to let go of our bound-up resentment and finally heal.

Nelson County Widows Group// Martena Hamilton
I am Martena Hamilton, a widow of 14 years. I recently joined Southeast Christian Church and was amazed by their welcoming spirit, their love for Jesus and community. Earlier this year, I joined a widows group in Bullitt County. This made me realize the need for Christian widow fellowship while supporting each other and studying the word of our amazing Savior. God has put a calling on my heart to provide a meeting place in Nelson County. I think widows can sometimes feel left out and lonely once you have lost a spouse. Just know you are not alone and welcome to join other widows to walk through this season of life.

Dose Young Marrieds Home Group
Aaron and Olivia have been married for a little over 3 years. Aaron is from San Antonio and Olivia is a Louisville native. They met at a summer camp internship while in college, and got married in 2020. They love their two golden-doodles, Fig and Willow, and spending time with family and friends. Olivia grew up going to Southeast Christian Church and has been a member of the southwest campus since its launch. Aaron likes to spend his free time working on home projects, learning about the world of business, and having friends over for good conversation. Olivia enjoys reading, getting coffee with friends, and traveling. Aaron and Olivia both have a desire to walk with other young married couples and create a group founded on biblical relationships with each other. They want to not only learn together, but to also create friendships that are fulfilling, have accountability, and are a safe space. Above all, they want to serve God well and believe that as a young married couple, it is an important season to make sure you have true connections with people who can love and support one another. If you are looking for something similar, they would love for you to join their group and start that journey together!
