At the Well
Blankenbaker
At the Well is a class for those who have participated in Encounter groups with the purpose of gaining a next step into community. However, anyone may attend. This is a fellowship of the hurting who are looking to be challenged in their spiritual and emotional growth.

Are you certain you are ready to deal with relationships again? Are you ready to be vulnerable and overcome your fears? Real-life issues are addressed with topics on compulsions, trust, true love, loneliness, grace, forgiveness, bitterness, hope, self-control, joy vs. happiness, self-examination, beliefs, true intimacy, worship, transformation, brokenness, and fear. This list is not exhaustive but relevant to the issues faced by those who are wounded by circumstances in life.

It is a forum of participation, not passive teaching. It is a place to hear what God has to say about where and who we are in Him. It is the next step in your support and recovery experience.

Lamentations 3:40 NIV says, "Let us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to the Lord."

Telling Your Child Their Story: Lifebook Workshop
Blankenbaker
Holding and sharing our kids’ stories with them is one of the most precious and important things we get to do as foster and adoptive parents. And yet, we know this sweet responsibility can be overwhelming and intimidating, too. Friends, we’re here to help!

This 4-week training will walk you through the journey of creating a lifebook to capture the story of how your child came to be…and be in your family. Loosely based on “Before You Were Mine”–a lovely resource we recommend by Susan TeBos–our hope is that you leave equipped and excited to walk with your child through their story. This training will be part class/part workshop, and we’ll learn and chat and wrestle through hard things together. We’d love for you to join us!

This class will be October 10, October 17, November 7, and November 14 from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM.

Note: Be sure to register for childcare if you need it.

Whispers // Fall 2023
Chapel in the Woods
Do you have trouble thinking of words to say to God when you pray? Are you afraid some emotions are too intense to express to God? Do you reach the end of a day only to realize you haven’t prayed at all? You’re not alone. Prayer is the way we relate to God, but sometimes it’s a struggle. Throughout God’s Word, we encounter many voices who teach us how to pray.
In this 7-session study, join with six beloved Bible teachers who will help you study prayers in the Bible that can inspire your own. You’ll learn that God welcomes your praise and lament, your thanksgiving and intercession. You’ll see examples of how to pray when you’re alone and when you’re gathered with others. Above all, you’ll notice there’s no one right way to pray. As you draw near to God through prayer, you’ll find your faith strengthened and your heart united to Christ.

920 // PAL (Parents of Addicted Loved Ones)
Blankenbaker
PAL provides hope through education and support to parents of addicted loved ones.

Each session includes two important parts:

1. An educational component that offers tools for parents to use when trying to save a son or daughter from addiction, including ways to help them in a healthy way rather than enable their addiction.
2. A support component, a time for parents to interact, sharing what has worked—and not worked—for them in their community.

Not only is the physical and emotional health of parents improved, but in many cases their adult loved one reduces or stops their misuse of substances.

For more information, you may contact the group facilitator, Gene Butcher, at 859-539-5353.
