Welcome to SE!KIDS where we partner with families to discover God, His Story, and our place in it. Early Childhood volunteers create environments tailored to nursery, toddlers, and preschoolers. From providing care to infants, helping in a small group classroom, to leading preschool chapel, come use your gifts to fellowship with our church family, grow spiritually, and lead others to Jesus.

How to Serve in Children’s Ministry

Connect

We’ll be in touch soon after you complete the form below! We’ll talk about what serving in Children’s Ministry looks like and we’ll partner to find your place in SE!KIDS.

Apply

When you’re ready to apply, you’ll need to complete our volunteer application. Kids’ safety is a priority in SE!KIDS; therefore, there are four parts to becoming a cleared volunteer. See below for details.
We are always careful about who serves with children and safety is our priority. Below lists in detail all the parts to the volunteer application.

Part 1: Criminal Background Check
Volunteers must have a criminal background check on file. You’ll grant permission for this during your application.

Part 2: Reference Check
We’ll send a short reference check to the 4 contacts you provide. They should meet the following requirements:
  • Personally known the applicant at least 5 years
  • 18 years or older
  • Not a relative nor a Southeast employee
  • Does not reside at the same address as any of the other references
Let your references know to expect an email from Southeast

Part 3: Six Month Attendance
To serve in SE!KIDS you must have actively attended Southeast for at least 6 months. If it has been less than that, we’ll equip and train you while you wait for this requirement to be fulfilled!

Part 4: Ministry Safe Awareness training
This online sexual abuse awareness training takes about an hour to complete. It’s designed to help us keep our ministry, children, volunteers and you, safe.

We’ll send you a link and you can watch the series of videos on your own. There’s a short quiz at the end. If you have questions about Ministry Safe, please let us know.

Train

After you’ve completed your application and you are cleared to serve, we’ll connect and equip you for the specific role you’ll fulfill in SE!KIDS.
This could be a class, a coffee, or a volunteer shadowing experience – maybe all three! We’ll partner with you every step of the way helping you discover YOUR place in His Story.

SE!KIDS partners with families to discover God, His Story and our place in it while connecting people to Jesus, one at a time. We believe serving in the church is both a privilege and an act of worship with opportunities available to meet many giftings. Through volunteering, we are able to fellowship with our church family, grow spiritually, and lead others to Jesus.
