One Need At A Time

The poor will always be among us, people with many needs- physical, spiritual, and emotional. However, we often use this phrase as an excuse to stay on the sidelines rather than as a motivator to get into the game. There will always be needs, and we are given the opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus as we meet the needs of the world with the news of a God who provides every good thing. In Matthew we see Jesus on a mountainside with a mountain of needs all around him. Rather than growing overwhelmed or apathetic, Jesus looked at what God had placed around Him to meet those needs. With a few loaves of bread and fish, we get a front row seat in this story to seeing how God provides when we give Him the little we have to meet the needs of another. Imagine if we began to look at the environments and resources around us as opportunities to let God do a work that only He can.
