In these videos, Senior Pastor Dave Stone, Teaching Pastor Kyle Idleman, and Executive Pastor Tim Hester will walk you through the three core beliefs highlighted in our Starting Point class: Jesus, the Bible, and the Church. Each section contains three videos. Please take the time to watch each video—feel free to watch through them on your own schedule—and contact us with any questions you may have.
Week One: Jesus
Jesus is the beginning and end of our faith. He is the reason we exist as a church. In this section, our pastors will share the story of Jesus, what we believe about who He is, and how we live when we’re following Him.
Jesus is the starting point for everything we believe and everything we do. It is essential to our faith to know who Jesus is and what He did.
We believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God, our Lord and Savior—and we can see Him in God’s whole plan throughout history.
We want to follow after Jesus completely—obeying what He said, making disciples, and trusting that His Spirit will be with us as we go.
Week Two: The Bible
The Bible is the clearest expression of who God is, who Jesus is, and who we are as His people. These videos spell out the significance of the Bible, the history of the Bible, and how we can get to know God’s Word better.
We believe the Bible is the Word of God, the story of God, and the plan of God. That’s why we want to learn what the Bible says and live it out.
The Bible is unique, complete, and is God’s Word for us—and we can trust what it says.
Saturating yourself with Scripture is one of the best ways to grow in your relationship with Jesus. We want to read it consistently, intentionally, and with humility.
Week Three: The Church
Faith in Jesus is best lived out in the context of community—the Church. Learn from our pastors about who we are as a Church and how we can participate in the ways God works through the Church.
Since Jesus has freely given us His extravagant grace, we freely give our time, talent, and treasure back to Him through the local church.
Being a part of Southeast means being a part of the mission of Jesus to reach the world. We want to serve, grow, and be on mission together.
Learn about why there are so many different kinds of churches, how Southeast is unique, and what brings us together as the body of Christ.
